01

Managed IT Services & Support

Complete day-to-day care of your technology: a responsive helpdesk your team will actually like calling, proactive monitoring and patching, and vendor management that takes the runaround off your plate.

Helpdesk & on-site support · Proactive monitoring & maintenance · Patch & asset management · Vendor & license management · Technology standardization
02

Cybersecurity & Compliance

Layered defenses matched to your actual risk: assessments that show where you stand, protection and training that harden your weakest points, and advisory support for the compliance frameworks your industry demands.

Security assessments · Endpoint & email protection · Employee security training · Backup & disaster recovery · Compliance advisory (HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI, CMMC)
03

IT Projects & Cloud

The upgrades and initiatives that move your business forward — planned by senior engineers, executed with minimal disruption, and documented so your environment stays maintainable long after the project closes.

Cloud migration · Server & infrastructure upgrades · Email platform migration · Office relocation & buildouts · Wireless networks · Phone systems & VoIP · Remote work enablement
04

Software & Web Development

Custom software when off-the-shelf falls short: business applications, integrations, and automation that fit the way you actually work — plus modern, fast websites that turn visitors into customers.

Custom business applications · System integrations & automation · Website design & development · AI & workflow automation · Ongoing enhancement & support
05

Staff Augmentation & Dedicated Teams

Skilled engineers and developers who plug directly into your team when you need capacity or a capability you don’t have in-house — without the overhead and delay of hiring. Scale up for a push, scale down when it ships.

Dedicated developers & engineers · Project managers & business analysts · Short- and long-term placements · Ramp up in weeks, not months · Your tools, your process, our people · Knowledge transfer to your team built in
06

Technology Leadership vCIO & CTO-as-a-Service

Executive-level technology leadership without the executive-level payroll: a fractional CIO or CTO who owns your technology strategy, budget, and vendor relationships — and answers to your leadership like one of your own.

Technology strategy & multi-year roadmaps · IT budgeting & cost optimization · Vendor selection & contract negotiation · Security & risk governance · M&A technology due diligence · Board- and investor-ready reporting
07

Integrations & APIs

Your systems already hold the data — they just don’t talk to each other. We connect payments, CRM, accounting, e-commerce, and industry platforms into one coherent flow, so information is entered once and appears everywhere it should. If it has an API, we can connect it; if it doesn’t, we’ll find another way in.

Payment platforms (Stripe, Square & more) · CRM & marketing systems · Accounting & ERP sync · E-commerce & shipping · Custom API development · Integration audit & rescue of brittle connections
08

Training & Enablement

Technology only pays off when your people are confident with it. We train your team on the systems we build and the tools you already own — in plain language, matched to each role — so capability stays in your building long after any engagement ends.

End-user training on new systems · AI enablement workshops for teams & leadership · Security awareness programs · Admin & power-user handover training · Developer upskilling & pairing · Custom documentation & quick-reference guides
09

Digital Marketing & Growth

A website nobody finds is a brochure in a drawer. We make the technology you’ve invested in actually produce customers: search visibility, content that earns rankings, and measurement honest enough to show you what’s working — and what to stop paying for.

SEO & local search optimization · Content strategy & production · Analytics & conversion tracking (GA4) · Paid search & social campaign support · Email marketing & automation · Review & reputation management
Our proven process

Projects that land on time and on budget

Step 1

Assess & Plan

We evaluate your current environment, define success criteria with you, and produce a fixed scope with a clear timeline and budget — before any work begins.

Step 2

Execute & Communicate

Senior engineers do the work in carefully sequenced stages, testing as they go, with scheduled updates so you always know exactly where the project stands.

Step 3

Train & Support

We train your team, hand over clean documentation, and stay on call after go-live — because a project isn’t done until your people are comfortable with it.

Engagement models

Work with us the way that fits

Different needs call for different arrangements. Choose the model that matches your project — or blend them as your needs evolve.

0

Sprint Zero

A one-to-two-week paid discovery before any large build: scope, architecture, backlog, and a firm quote. De-risks the project — and the fee credits toward the build if we proceed.

A

Fixed-Scope Project

A defined deliverable, timeline, and price agreed before work begins. Best for migrations, buildouts, and one-time initiatives where certainty matters.

B

Dedicated Team

Engineers and developers who work as an extension of your staff — your priorities, your tools, our people. Best for ongoing development and long roadmaps.

C

Managed Services Plan

A flat monthly plan covering support, monitoring, security, and maintenance — predictable costs and one team accountable for everything.

Subscription plans

One flat fee. No hourly surprises.

Hourly billing punishes you for asking questions. Our subscription plans flip that: a predictable monthly fee, a queue you control, and the freedom to adjust or pause as your needs change.

Not sure where to start?

Three questions. One recommendation.

The honest comparison

In-house, freelancers, or a firm?

Every option has a place. Here’s how they actually compare — including where we’re not the right answer.

In-House Hire Freelancers Canaan One
Breadth of skills One person’s skill set — excellent at some things, learning the rest on your time Deep in one specialty; assembling several is your job A full bench: engineers, developers, security, design, and leadership
Coverage Business hours, minus vacations, sick days, and the day they resign When their calendar allows Always-on monitoring with team redundancy behind every role
Cost structure Salary, benefits, training, tooling — fixed cost whether busy or not Hourly and unpredictable; scope drift is billed to you Flat monthly plans or fixed project prices, agreed in advance
Accountability An employment relationship — performance managed by you Per task; quality control is on you Contractual response targets, weekly status, quarterly reviews
Scaling Hiring cycles measured in months; layoffs when needs shrink Re-sourcing and re-onboarding each time Dial capacity up or down with 30 days’ notice

When is in-house the right call? When technology is your product and a role is needed full-time, every day — a growing software company should absolutely employ its core engineers. Many of our clients pair a small internal team with us for depth, coverage, and surge capacity. If a hire serves you better than a contract, we’ll tell you so.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can you take over our IT from a previous provider?

Most transitions complete within two to four weeks. We run a structured onboarding: documenting your environment, capturing credentials securely, and shadowing the outgoing provider where possible — so your team never notices the handoff.

Do you work with businesses that already have internal IT staff?

Yes. Many clients use us as co-managed IT: their internal team handles day-to-day items while we provide escalation support, security oversight, and project capacity. We complement in-house staff, not compete with them.

How do you price projects?

Projects are quoted as a fixed scope with a fixed price after a free consultation and assessment. Ongoing services are flat monthly plans based on users and systems covered. Either way, you know the number before we start.

Can you help us meet compliance requirements?

We provide compliance advisory and remediation for frameworks including HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, and CMMC — from gap assessment through implementing the controls and documentation auditors expect.

Isn’t outsourcing IT and development risky?

The risk isn’t outsourcing — it’s outsourcing badly: no written commitments, no documentation, no exit path. We structure engagements to remove exactly those risks: contractual response targets, documentation you own from day one, least-privilege access we can hand back, and no lock-in. Compare that honestly with a single in-house hire who can resign with two weeks’ notice.

What does this actually cost?

It depends on your headcount, systems, and goals — which is why we quote after a free assessment rather than publishing one-size-fits-none prices. What we can promise about cost: it’s a flat number agreed in advance, it doesn’t change without your written approval, and for most businesses it lands well below the fully loaded cost of an equivalent in-house team.

How do the subscription plans work?

You pay one flat monthly fee based on your headcount and systems — scoped after a free assessment. Support and security are always-on; project and development work runs through a queue you reprioritize monthly. Tiers can change, and project work can pause, with 30 days’ notice. No hourly meters, no surprise invoices.

Who will I actually be working with?

A named engagement lead owns your account from the first call to the last — the same person, start to finish, backed by a team so coverage never depends on one calendar. You also get direct access to the engineers doing the work; we don’t route technical questions through account managers.

What is “agentic AI” — and is it ready for my business?

Agentic AI goes beyond answering questions: it completes multi-step work — reading an inbox, updating systems, drafting responses, escalating exceptions — the way a diligent assistant would. It’s ready for well-defined processes with clear rules and a human checkpoint on anything consequential; it’s not ready to run your business unsupervised, and we’ll tell you which side of that line your use case falls on. That judgment call is exactly what our AI readiness assessment is for.

What if we need custom software, not just IT support?

That’s one of our core strengths. Our development team builds custom applications, integrations, AI-powered automation, and websites — see our Solutions page for the full picture.
